In a highly specialised market totalling less than a dozen manufacturers worldwide, Protex supplies the World's largest standard range of overcentre fasteners, toggle latches and draw latches, quick-release bandclamps and spring-loaded handles, which the Company has built up steadily since its formation in 1954.

The extensive range includes: quick-action, steel fastening devices (overcentre, toggle fasteners operated by lever), for draw latches, turn and panel latches, handles and case fittings. These varied products fulfil applications in over 50 industries (and as many export countries) demanding safety, security, ease of use, efficient plant maintenance and cleaning, high productivity, time savings and avoidance of manual strain. Some are unique, protected by patent and/or sold under registered trade names.

These products are designed and manufactured by Protex in house at our global manufacturing centre in the UK and therefore when purchasing a Protex product, you are buying direct form the manufacturer. Our manufacturing and assembly facilities utilise a range of machines, including a variety of hydraulic roll feed and single operation presses from 6.5 tonne to 80 tonne. We also assemble using spin riveting machines, hydraulic orbital riveting machines, and spot welders whilst using a vast range of sophisticated jigs and fixtures.

We also operate our own in house zinc plating plant, giving us total control over our production requirements.

Our large range of tooling is built and maintained by our in-house Toolroom, using a range of CNC millers, lathes, surface grinders and other modern machines.
